The Billboard Class

172 (Advertising and IMCs) homework: create a billboard marketing yourself.

I made a mistake, I was intending to mean "There is no other" to pertain to teh weirdness that is my name. Haha. I liked that class today, it was fun seeing all my classmates' billboards. Photo, fonts, and background are not mine :P

**************

I just finished Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer. Being a cheapskate, I decided to cheaply ride the Twilight popularity wave through borrowing all three books of Twilight from Denise and her friend. And that was a long time ago. Two hours ago, in the middle of rereading old stuff in my files, it occurred to me that I still had Eclipse for quite a while and suddenly felt a bit guilty for having it too long. So I finished the remaining 300 pages of the book in two hours! No mean feat, the book was pretty exciting. Fast reading creates a heady Eclipse-rush though.

As usual the vampire-battle parts didn't appeal to me much, but the kilig in the last parts were waayyyyy too much, in a good way. Siyempre natuwa ako. Hahaha. I'm sure I'm going to explain it badly if I attempt to describe why I like this trilogy, so in a nutshell, I like it because of 1) the seeming perfection of Edward Cullen, 2) the sneaky kilig-without-trying parts, 3) "the lion fell in love with the lamb" premise, and 4) the accessibility of Bella Swan as protagonist. Totally girl-next-door, totally relatable.

The bad thing about the trilogy (and I observed this among all the Twilight readers I've chatted with) is that it's easy to feel bad because of the story, grrrr. The characters are so wonderfully fleshed out and the situations are so perfect, that we actually get jealous of them. Promise.

So no, I don't care about the battle of good and evil and shizz, but the Edward-Bella love team is sooooo worth buying your own copies of the books for.

Currently reading: Rizal Without The Overcoat by Ambeth Ocampo. It's healthy to read regularly, I find. Too much fiction distracts me from schoolwork and the social sphere (hehe) so I try to restrict those books to holidays (when I go on reading binges). Nonfiction, on the other hand, is always good for all occasions. It entertains and doesn't tear one away from reality too much. Plus you get to know more stuff, haha :) Planning to buy environment books soon.
